here with me
another good thing: weekends. well, not saying i really get one - i still work at the supermarket on weekends - but a few days away from the small, windowless office is good enough for me. (though i am entirely thankful these days that said office has well-functioning air conditioning; i tried to walk home from work yesterday and honest to god nearly passed out.)
still, i can't help but wish it was this time last year, when i was just getting into chicago for lollapalooza :( nostalgia. sighhhh. take me back plz.
on that topic, idolator pits this weekend's festivals - lolla and the virgin festival in baltimore - against each other. the winner: heatstroke.
also, if you're heading to our own virgin festival here in september, you may be fortunate enough to catch editors! i wrote about them here, and i kind of did that article so long ago that i was half-convinced my editors (of the writing kind, not the musical kind) were holding off on it until september.
uh...what? i think the headline makes that news sound a lot weirder than it actually is, though. (and rofl at whomever thought up "the man whose life is a highway" -- seriously, that song is a classic, like bryan adams' "summer of `69". no matter how cheesy it is, if you're a born and bred canadian, you have to love it)
jack white hates music journos. i think he hates a lot of the music media, to be honest.
by the way, now that i have a perfectly respectable excuse for office lunching (given that i, uh, work in an office), i'm kinda sorta totally in love with lettuce. yes, i am one of those sickening girls who will eat a large salad as a meal. (the best ever: romaine with avocado, black beans, carrot, corn and roasted red peppers, with sundried tomato vinaigrette)
and lastly, via blogto, there's relief coming for everyone suffering from the recent heatwave: snow is on the way!
tomorrow!: i sell things in an effort to clear out some of the clutter from my already-too-small apartment.
oh yeah, and i ordered a laptop (a customized dell inspiron 1501). it's coming in the mail next week. it's going to be the most awesome thing ever.
