living in a movie scene

there's a simple piece of graffiti scribbled on a garage door that i see en route to work at the supermarket; it reads, "you are loved." it makes me smile every time i see it.

you know who needs some love? pete doherty. though i somehow don't think "hugs not drugs" would really work in this case. or, well, ever. (then of course, nme, being awesome, got a "top lawyer" to make comments and predictions. i love the way their editors think.)

more gene simmons on tv! not that i get that channel - or any channel, actually, since i just disconnected my television set - but i watched a family jewels marathon when i was home in kingston last month and got hooked. though i think a lot of that had to do with his foxy jailbait son. yes plz.

idolator reports on suspected possible closings of nyc virgin megastores. this bums me out -- i've been in the chicago virgin megastore twice and both times i nearly had a brain aneurysm. so much cool stuff! so little money!

studies show: binge drinking is bad for you. hell, my liver could have told you that.

back to the moving talk... one thing i'm finding about vancouver: people are very polarized about it. everybody i've talked to about vancouver either absolutely love it or fucking hate it, and they swear i will either absolutely love it or fucking hate it too. from all the area and neighbourhood maps i've been looking at, the only word i can think of to describe it would be "confusing". but i can't wait to just jump in there and start learning my way around town. (i'm also psyched to try a japadog, though only if they've got tofu versions)

another thing i'm banking on is being able to find a solid fetish clothing shop in town. sure, i finally ordered the air raid sirens shirt i've been wanting for a while (gonna wear it to the cure!), but lip service has got an absolute shitload of mindblowing stuff coming in for the fall 2007 line...like this top, this super-cute tunic, this minidress in maroon and black, this hoodie, and of course this coat, which i'm intending for halloween 2007. though i wouldn't put it past me to start wearing it as a regular coat, too....oy.

alright, back to listening to this weird lo-fi goth music that my halo brother sent me. good times. (he hooked me on red lorry yellow lorry, so i've given him free reign for recommendations. it's been a pretty gothy summer, after all -- i blame the new black hair)

p.s. have now been pure vegetarian for 49 days; am not dead. but i had to spend $50 on vitamin supplements, which kind of sucked.
