no one knows you like i know you

somehow, despite having a busy as hell weekend involving two eight-hour work shifts, a boozy engagement party out near scarbs (transportation involved a very long subway/bus ride that a colleague described as "feeling like travelling out to buttfuck nowhere in middle america"), and attempting to lure kill hannah out for drinks (attempt failed, but it all worked out okay anyway because i ended up running into a bunch of old high school friends and hanging out with them instead), i managed to scribble up a review of slayer and marilyn manson's show last friday. satanerriffic, indeed! what a great fucking time. kind of wish i'd seen manson before, like maybe when he toured (and was still friends with) nine inch nails...ah, industrial love.

amy winehouse goes to rehab. yeah, that headline writes itself. it's all over the internets this morning and i am not clever or original.

i admit, i watched this at work yesterday. i was bored waiting for my calls to be returned, what can i say. hadn't seen that shit since, oh, grade nine?

never mind the gallagher swag, i want johnny's jeans! even though so much of the bloom's gone off since he started dating dunst...both jenna and i agree: ugghhhhh.

the ex starts this weekend! definitely a must-go, preferably with a lot of friends and late at night. just no rollercoasters or ferris wheels plz, heights are scary.

oh yeah, and i picked up my new laptop last night. last night was kind of like christmas in august.

it's a dell inspiron 1501 that i ordered new (sure, i could've gotten a cheap used one, but it's gonna be one of the most important things i take with me out west, so i preferred to have something reliable and designed to my own specs) and souped up a bit by upgrading the sound card (so the music's better), the ram to 2 gigs (so it runs faster), and the battery to 85whr (so it lasts longer). right now i'm mostly playing around with it, having moved all the important files - well, okay, mostly just my itunes library - from my desktop and now focusing on installing all the necessary extra programs. it's also a thing of fucking beauty, too, even though it's going to take a while to get used to the keyboard and mouse and all that wackiness. the buttons are so sensitive! bah.

okay, i'm at the office for my third-last day of work here, so i'd better go, uh, do some work.
